A marina gives you power, water, showers and help with mooring; a buoy or anchor gives you quiet and a swim from the boat. A good week mixes them: two or three nights in a marina or harbour, the rest on a buoy or at anchor.
1. Four kinds of night
| Where | What you get | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Marina | power, water, showers, a marinero helps you moor | highest; e.g. ACI Jezera 120–€132/night |
| Town quay | a berth on the quay, often water and power, the village next to the boat | harbour fee by length |
| Buoy | a quiet bay, swimming, the seabed protected | e.g. ACI Žut 60–€70/night (up to 12 m) |
| Anchor | the most freedom, no services | free; the park ticket inside a park |

2. Mooring stern-to
1Rig fenders and stern lines before entering the marina, on both sides.
2Approach stern first and slowly; one person hands the stern lines to the marinero or makes them fast on the pontoon.
3Pick up the lazy line from the pontoon and walk it to the bow; tension it only once the stern lines are fast.
3. Arriving in season
In July and August, marinas and the buoys in popular bays fill up by mid-afternoon. Arrive by 15:00, book a berth the day before, and call the marina on VHF or by phone when you are 15–20 minutes away. How to anchor when there is no room is in the guide Anchoring in the Kornati.
